Interdisciplinary Marine Scientist

I'm driven by a passion for the natural world. As a mid-career marine science professional I've developed a proficiency in scientific project design, management, and implementation. I've built connections across a range of agency and stakeholder groups, and a familiarity with policy considerations along the California west coast. I strive to continue building skills that will allow me to advance scientific understanding of human connections to natural systems.

My diverse background includes academic marine ecology research, paired with Master's training in the use of remote sensing technology, seafloor mapping and habitat characterization, community engagement, and creative data integration to address scientific or resource management issues. Professional experience in private marine science consulting and CA state policy development have allowed for continued skill development in scientific implementation and navigating complex regulatory frameworks.

MY LATEST PROJECTS

100% hands down the best method for etching a PCB on the entire internet! Here I explore the basics of PCB etching using very few purchased materials.

I'm currently designing a low-cost open-source flow meter. The Arduino-based system utilizes an Inertial Measurement Unit, housed within a positively buoyant pipe, to log absolute orientation (euler vector) data at 2Hz when anchored.
